A Patient Lilium poets united thursday think tank #36-lilies of the field

A single lily stands
alone in the field
Her fragrance is not sensed
No-one comes near
Lonesome
The sun cannot encourage
strength,
It is hidden
in a dark sky
Rain drenches her petals

Lilium waits in the field
patiently
Butterflies and bees
don’t visit her anymore
Apocalyptic rains
have chased them all away
She hopes for better days
and closes her eyes to sleep

  1. I love the image of this solitary lily, blooming unnoticed in a field, watered by poisoned rain. Strong message.

  15. I still believe the lilies hold deep in their stems and petals some hope. It's all we all really have - and you said it so well!
