Untangle crowded doorways
leading to changeable shades
weeping willow trees
with spiders
weaving intricate webs
as Gabriel blows his horn
in the summertime
from a mountain
in the distance
Cross the highway
not yielding to the
double yellow line
passing fervently into
mist that leads me into
a fluorescent green pasture
as Francisco spreads his arms
in winter
on the river’s bank
water overflowing
I will step into the day
placing the night behind me
never looking back

Nice to meet you, too, moondustwriter.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Beautiful Pam...with the arms of Francisco open wide you can feel in the movement out of the city and the know and into the mist...very nice..bkm
ReplyDeleteReads like a poetic tale of personal redemption with some excellent references. Nice work!
ReplyDeletequite the journey you took...and quickly but on the other side i imagine you that much more happy..smiles.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your dreamscape, Pamela.
ReplyDeletePostcard from a slightly surreal travelogue for me, I enjoyed going there with you in spirit. The view looking back may be beautiful, but it makes your neck hurt after awhile.
ReplyDeleteI love how the journey moves from familiar to mythic landscapes, or how the one interpenetrates the other. This double vision -- to see with human and angelic eyes, perhaps -- is what good poetry enables. Very nice job. -- Brendan
