Out of the mist
It hits me on
summer nights
when the air is hot
and breathing is difficult
Walking has become
nearly impossible
Crawling on the walls
I watch you rubbing
disjointed limbs together
as if praying to yourself
Friction is created and
heat rises from your
outer shell
Moving from place to
place with no destination
in mind
When he laid down the
inverted card
why didn’t he mention
this would be your fate?

Good question. But I think the fly knows where he's going.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent searching question in this.
ReplyDeleteViv, I am not totally convinced
ReplyDeletea fly knows where it is going.
If you believe in reincarnation
ReplyDeletethat is, Anthony. I am not
that convinced.
Pamela, even though I don't believe in reincarnation, lots of my friends do. So I wonder what sort of person the fly was, what was the nature of the card turned? A gambler? A fortune teller? Lots to ponder, and I love it. And flies DO know where they are going. It's usually somewhere near my face, LOL. Amy Barlow Liberatore (Sharp Little Pencil) and here's mine:
