I don't know sunday scribblings #251-eternity

Weightless within unending sleep
limitless with no boundaries
like skin that is draped over bones
holding it together
until lifted off and cast into the fire

Ash in piles
to be blown away
captured – released

Pollen carried
across an open field

Forever changing  …

Peeling away the old wallpaper
of another era –

Nightmares collide with beauty –
found and formulated
intimacy lost on itself

  1. "Peeling away the old wallpaper
    of another era – "

That is an incredible line - an 'I wish I'd written that' line.

  2. Thanks much RJ. I found this prompt difficult to write to without sounding prophetic. Or should I say full of myself:)

  3. Flaubert, we are all so full of ourselves. That is why we are bursting to write, or sing or dance. It is that inbuilt eternity within us that compels us to be creative in so many diverse ways. Just as you have done.

  4. Stopping by to say happy new year! Glad to see you are writing with your customary passion and spirit. I am suffering from a bad case of the dreaded writer's block. It could be the weather: bitter cold and piles of snow. I want only to stay hidden under my covers.

  5. 'Nightmares collide with beauty' - for me, the most wonderful, pertinent line..but the whole piece was such a free-flowing piece of poetry..like you were leading us through a landscape that is ashen but where something good may arise - and like Old Egg says where better to have a little confidence in your creativity..Jae :)

  6. I agree with lightverse: Peeling away the old wall paper
    of another era
    is a fantastic phrase.

  7. oldegg, you have made a valid point there:)

  8. Marianne, sounds like a bit of depression. It happens when we can't move about with leisure, due to weather conditions. I experience it during the rainy season here.
I think if you just force yourself to write, even if it doesn't feel good or right. Maybe it will breakdown a barrier. You might even be pleasantly surprised with the results:)
    Take good care
and happy new year to you!

  9. Thanks jaerose, I try to be as confident as possible with my writing.

  10. Dave, I am not sure where that came from, but thanks.

  11. This has a very ethereal quality - lovely.
